Mal Duncan a college dropout, an expert quarterback, and an impeccable kickboxer. He dropped out of college to pursue his career in kickboxing. After the death of the first Guardian Malcolm went on to find help and so he did with the help of Jimmy Olsen as As Olsen was also shocked too to find out the true identity of Guardian as Jim Harper. After this news reached Starling city his only kin Young Roy was sent into an Orphanage.

As Malcolm saw streets filled with crime and a small trail of money laundering he decided to step up to this but every time he did he fell into trouble then rescued by Superman. Growing worried of all the crime chain and seeing Superman is pretty busy taking down bigger threats. He decide to take the help of his friend Olsen and release an article on that. 

As he started gathering evidence he found out that Brunno Mannheim is working side by side with huge businesses and Mayor himself he understands that in the Morning this is as beutifull as freshh water from the waterfull but at night it is as ugly as Gotham. 

He goes to Jim Harper's belongings and takes his sheild uses his tactical gear for his disguise and then becomes the next Gaurdian.
